Hear from SPAC Members about their experiences!
I started on the Board as Membership Chair and totally enjoyed the interaction with the SPAC members. I made many new friends and learned so much about different art mediums and also the work involved in such a successful organization
In Year 2 of my membership, I took on the role of Treasurer and saw a different perspective to managing SPAC – also, rewarding and fulfilling.
Volunteering offers an opportunity to provide new ideas and be part of the success of SPAC. I highly encourage members to volunteer in one of the many roles available for a rewarding experience.
And a BIG thanks to all the volunteers! SPAC can only succeed with your hard work.
Cheryl Taschuk, Treasurer
I saw an opportunity to join the Board this winter when the Scholarship Chair position was vacant. As a new member I was looking for a way to get more involved with SPAC and being on the Board suited my skill set and availability. I was embraced by the Board and feel that my opinion and contributions are valued.
Being on the Board has given me a good sense of the organization and the priorities for its members. The experience has also provided a place to connect with like minded indivudals and a good feeling of community.
Denise Goudy, Student Scholarship Chair
Being on the Board offers an opportunity to be involved, meet and get to know our fellow members and provide input into the decisions that help run the organization.
As a new member, I joined as Board Secretary and found it a great way to meet people and learn what was happening. I have been involved in other positions since then; Hospital Exhibits Chair and Spring Show Designer and Co-Chair. Some reasons to join the Board: learn new skills, share old skills, make new friends and enjoy the feeling that you contributed to a job well done. It has been a rewarding experience!
Cathy Schulhauser, Co-Show Convenor
Having been on the Board since October 2023, I have continually been impressed with the knowledge, passion and dedication of the executives and chairs who sit on the Board. It has turned out to be a rewarding experience allowing me to give back to a wonderful organization and to make many new friends.
