Artist Bio – Toni-Rose Carvalhal

Drawing and painting have been a passion of mine since I was very young. Although mostly self taught, I have over time further developed my skills through varied art classes and workshops. Having lived on the Saanich Peninsula most of my life, I am blessed to have a limitless supply of beauty from which to be inspired.

Acrylic painting is my specialty, with an emphasis on capturing mood and eliciting an emotional connection to the piece by paying particular attention to light, perspective and composition. My work ranges from portraiture and figurative paintings to floral, land and seascapes of all sizes.

I have exhibited my paintings in a variety of art shows throughout Vancouver Island, and they have also been accepted into the juried Sidney and Sooke Fine Art Shows. As a member of the Saanich Peninsula Arts & Crafts Society (SPAC), my paintings have been in the annual Spring Shows, including this year’s event. I also regularly accept commissions and have paintings in collections throughout Vancouver Island and beyond.
