Yupo was developed for the printing industry. It was designed to take ink smoothly and richly without deteriorating with age or tearing. Yupo has a very silky surface and the plastic does not absorb water. The paint tends to flow and blend with a mind of it’s own.
I will guide you through the adventure of Yupo (plastic paper)! Learn new techniques on textures, layering and creating vibrant images. You will learn to be more confident with Yupo in a positive and fun environment. All levels welcome!
ARTIST BIO – Tamra Sheline
“Getting out in the nature is good for the soul.“
As an artist in the Pacific Northwest, I am drawn to the details and saturated colors of nature. With wildlife and florals, I tend to lean towards micro views. I also love painting landscapes and mountain-scapes.
I work mainly with watercolor on Yupo which is a recycled, waterproof (plastic) paper. I enjoy the challenge of creating techniques as I go. I show in galleries, love participating in art fairs and enjoy instructing Yupo workshops. You will occasionally find me painting with acrylics on canvas and teaching art parties both public and private. I have a graphic design and illustrating background, so composition and perspective are very important to me.
My goal is to inspire those who see my work to look more carefully at the world around them, to discover beauty in unusual places.
