Kari Frazer
Growing up on a sailboat in Ladysmith Harbour, Kari Frazer’s deep connection to the seashore is manifested in her art. She has depicted marine life with acrylic paints on canvas, furniture and marine buoys – and now, her newest venture, sea glass and shells. Kari enjoys incorporating all sorts of found objects in her beach art: fossils, bones, and man-made items such as discarded fishing gear – all things that are stories in themselves of a life at the seashore.
Kari consciously applies art principles to her beach art: flow, balance, texture, colour, rhythm, movement, proportion, harmony and variety to create artwork that the viewer can pause, reflect and immerse into, time and time again. She has exhibited in numerous exhibits with SPAC, ArtSea, Moss Street Paint-In, Scattered Artists, Hills to Shore, local markets, cafes and stores.
