Tim Bennison

June 7/8, 2025 (Saturday/Sunday, 2-Day Workshop 9:30 am to 4:30 pm)

McTavish Academy of Art – 1720 McTavish Road, North Saanich

Tim was born in England and moved to Canada in 1970. Growing up in Ottawa, he was introduced to watercolours by an innovative, energetic high school fine arts teacher. Tim has painted in this medium ever since. He is continually improving and evolving his technique, taking courses at Emily Carr and other institutions, as well as workshops with watercolour masters such as Thomas Schaller.

Over the years, his subject matter has ranged from landscapes and architecture to portraits. He loves the challenges and rewards of watercolours, using the light and transparency of the medium to capture a moment in time.

Tim is an Associate member of the Federation of Canadian Artists, Canada’s premier professional fine artist organization.

Tim’s past exhibitions include the Harmony Arts Festival since 2015-2019, West Van City Hall Art in the Hall 2018 (solo show), North Shore Arts Crawl 2019-2023, Hollyburn Eye Clinic Watercolour Visions of the North Shore 2019 (solo show) and The West Fine Arts Show 2019. He had an ongoing exhibition through 2022 at BlueShore Financial Branches throughout Vancouver. His paintings have been in many recent Federation of Canadian Artists Exhibitions. His work has been featured in several calendars from North Shore Arts and the Federation of Canadian Artists. Tim periodically teaches courses in watercolours for both these organizations.

Tim lives in North Vancouver, BC with his wife, son, daughter and two cats.
