When you look at your photos, do they reflect what you originally saw? What you wanted to communicate? Or are they simply “proof you were there”?
Are you stuck on “automatic”? Do you control your camera or does it control you?
I have literally taught hundreds of photography courses and the one thing I always see is students that  are intimidated by their cameras or don’t realize the many amazing ways this tool can improve their photography. This workshop is designed for all levels of photographer from beginner to advanced amateur. It doesn’t matter if you use a simple point-and-shoot camera or serious DSLR.
We begin with a three-hour classroom session that goes over the basic functions of the camera and some of the more advanced settings. It’s not as difficult as you may think. Then we will seek to improve creativity by reviewing the elements of composition and much more. Although it’s an overused phrase, you will definitely learn to shoot “outside the box”. You will learn to become a better communicator with your camera.
After the Saturday classroom session, you will spend Sunday morning at the Sidney Waterfront. You will see and photograph the area through “new eyes”. No snapshots allowed!
Following our time at the waterfront, we will meet back at the classroom, review the morning’s work, and hear what your fellow classmates think about using more than the “automatic” setting on their cameras. About what it is like to have a creative idea AND the ability to capture it in a digital image.
Perhaps most important, you will have fun finding a more creative you!!!
